چکیده مقاله:

Street lighting constitutes a substantial portion of urban energy consumption and contributes significantly to peak electricity demand, posing a challenge to sustainable urban development. This study assesses the technical and economic feasibility of three optimization strategies for the street lighting infrastructure of Khorram Dareh City: (۱) retrofitting high-pressure sodium lamps with light-emitting diodes (LEDs), (۲) implementing dual-power LED systems integrated with solar panels and (۳) deploying a hybrid system combining solar panels, wind turbines and battery energy storage. Each scenario is evaluated based on energy consumption, capital and operational costs, economic savings, carbon dioxide emissions reduction and impact on peak grid load. The findings demonstrate that while all scenarios yield notable improvements over the existing system, the hybrid configuration achieves the greatest energy efficiency, emissions reduction and potential for grid interaction. These results highlight the importance of aligning investment decisions with long-term urban energy and environmental objectives.
