چکیده مقاله:
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a dynamic network of interconnected devices that communicate with each other and their surroundings by seamlessly exchanging data. This technology enables the automation and optimization of various processes across industries, improving both efficiency and convenience. In IoT networks, the Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy Networks (RPL) is one of the most commonly adopted routing protocols. It is specifically designed to handle the constraints of IoT environments, such as limited power, processing capabilities, and unreliable communication links. However, RPL is not immune to security threats. Due to its inherent characteristics, it is highly vulnerable to a wide range of attacks, including Rank attacks, Sybil attacks, Blackhole attacks, and Selective Forwarding. These attacks can significantly degrade the performance of the network by causing data loss, network instability, and increased energy consumption, which are particularly critical in resource-constrained environments. To address these challenges, researchers have proposed a variety of security mechanisms. One promising and effective approach is the adoption of trust-based solutions. These mechanisms evaluate the behavior of nodes over time, assign trust values based on their actions, and isolate malicious or unreliable nodes. Trust-based solutions not only improve security but also enhance the overall stability and performance of the network. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of trust-based security mechanisms and their role in improving resilience against attacks in IoT environments.
