Ethno-botanical Study of Common Weed Flora in Village Kotka Zabta Khan, Tehsil Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan

The ethno-botanical study identified and determined the medicinal value of the ۹ common weeds flora in Village Kotka Zabta Khan, Tehsil Bannu, District Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Researchers are increasingly focusing on exploring the health benefits of herbal medications for human use. Medicines derived from natural sources are pharmacologically effective and typically exhibit minimal or no side effects, making them suitable for use in preventive medicine. Using the questionnaire method, more than ۱۰۰ interviews were conducted randomly with locals, herbalists, and pansaries. The ethnobotanical information about these frequently utilized weed species has been systematically recorded, preserved, and documented. This data indicates that these weeds serve as effective treatments for different ailments, including headaches, diabetes, toothaches, jaundice, intestinal disorders, dysentery, asthma, diarrhea, urinary tract infections, fevers, cancer, skin conditions, and coughs.
