چکیده مقاله:
The aim of this article is to develop curriculum frameworks appropriate to cultural diversity in Iran. Curriculum is essentially a political-cultural document and a contextual and culturally sensitive category, and it will be effective if its constituent elements are consistent and appropriate with the cultural characteristics of the society and, consequently, with the cultural characteristics of the learner. This article attempts to first examine the current situation of Iran in terms of cultural and ethnic diversity, based on a descriptive-analytical method, and then to establish the necessity of designing multicultural curricula from two independent "transnational" and "national" dimensions. Regarding the transnational and global necessities of such programs, the multicultural curriculum approach and contemporary necessities can be mentioned, among others. Regarding domestic necessities, this article will also refer to the two requirements of upstream laws and the specific political and geographical conditions of Iran. In the following, while explaining the goals of the multicultural curriculum, the challenges of developing such programs will be examined. Finally, practical strategies for establishing a multicultural curriculum based on the challenges ahead and in line with the country's upstream documents are proposed for policymakers and planners of the Iranian education system.
