Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Using Hazard Analysis(Hazan) Method in an Official building in Ahvaz city.

Introduction: Workplace environments, face different risks and dangers depending on the type of their activity. To reduce the level of these risks in the workplace, the application of standard methods of risk identification and assessment is highly beneficial. This study aimed to identify hazards and assess risks using the hazard analysis (HAZAN) method in an official building in Ahvaz city. Methods: This descriptive study, was conducted with a cross-sectional qualitative design in an official building in the south of Iran (Ahwaz city). The hazard analysis risk assessment technique (Hazan) was used to assess the risk of occupation, manage risk and reduce it to an acceptable level. The most important tool used in conducting (HAZAN) method was risk checklists. Risk levels were classified as unacceptable, unfavorable, acceptable with revision, and acceptable without revision. Results: The present study identified ۲۵ risks in an official building in Ahvaz city. The results showed that the level of unacceptable risk was ۳۲% and the level of acceptable with revision risk was ۱۲% included the highest and the lowest percentage of risk, respectively. Conclusion: According to the results of this study, most of the risks identified were at the level of unacceptable risk. In order to reduce the level of risk and improve the level of safety, applying appropriate and corrective actions and solutions, to eliminate, reduce or control existing risks, is necessary.
