چکیده مقاله:

In recent years, climate change and excessive energy consumption have posed significant challenges in the fields of environment and sustainability. Traditional approaches in architecture and urban planning—utilizing natural ventilation, vernacular materials, and climate-responsive design—can play a vital role in reducing energy consumption and dependence on fossil fuels. This study investigates the influence of traditional methods on greenhouse gas emission reduction, climate equilibrium, and their socio-economic consequences. The aim of this research is to provide a scientific analysis of traditional methods for energy optimization and to explore their integration potential with modern technologies. A descriptive-analytical approach has been adopted to evaluate previous studies, compare traditional and contemporary strategies, and assess their environmental and economic impacts. The findings indicate that environmentally responsive design reduces reliance on artificial energy, improves air quality, and regulates climatic conditions. Beyond environmental benefits, these methods positively influence lifestyle, energy costs, local industries, and sustainable development. However, the lack of regional studies, comprehensive economic analysis, and hybrid models remain significant challenges. Future research should focus more deeply on these methods within energy policy frameworks, urban infrastructure, and public acceptance to pave the way for sustainable energy management and climate change mitigation. The study demonstrates that integrating traditional methods with modern technologies can enhance energy efficiency and offer more effective solutions for sustainable urban design. Additionally, adopting supportive policies and amending urban regulations can facilitate wider public acceptance and implementation. To achieve these goals, further studies are essential to evaluate the climatic and economic sustainability of these approaches.
