چکیده مقاله:

Skin healing is influenced by endogenous electric fields that guide cell migration and proliferation, a process known as electrotaxis. While external electrical stimulation can aid wound healing, its clinical use is limited by bulky equipment. Piezoelectric materials, especially poly(vinylidene fluoride) and its copolymers, offer a self-powered alternative by generating electric signals in response to mechanical forces such as body movements. This article reviews the application of poly(vinylidene fluoride)-based materials in wound dressings. These materials are biocompatible, flexible, and exhibit high piezoelectric efficiency. When poly(vinylidene fluoride) composites are integrated with other components like biodegradable polymers or antimicrobial agents, they enhance cellular activity, support tissue regeneration, and offer antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and angiogenic benefits. Recent studies highlight their effectiveness in both in vitro and in vivo models, particularly for chronic or infected wounds. By eliminating the need for external power sources, piezoelectric wound dressings based on poly(vinylidene fluoride) represent a promising advancement in next-generation wound care.
