چکیده مقاله:

Air pollution is a critical environmental challenge that significantly impacts public health, particularly among vulnerable populations such as children and adolescents. This systematic review aims to investigate the association between air pollution and the prevalence of respiratory disorders among school-aged students. Major scientific databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, were searched for peer-reviewed articles published between ۲۰۰۰ and ۲۰۲۳. Studies included in the review were primarily observational and cross-sectional, focusing on quantitative measures of air pollutant exposure and respiratory health outcomes. The analysis revealed a consistent link between increased exposure to airborne pollutants-particularly particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, and sulfur dioxide-and the incidence of respiratory conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, and chronic coughing in students. Moreover, the review highlights geographic and seasonal variations in pollution levels and their health consequences. The findings underscore the urgent need for environmental regulations and school-centered health interventions to mitigate exposure and protect children's respiratory health.
