Criminal psychology is a branch of psychology that aims to understand the views, thoughts, intentions, actions, and reactions of people who commit crimes. It studies the personality, reasons, criminal behavior, and motivations of criminals. It studies the complex functions of the criminal mind and pre-criminal psychological processes, and studies the mental state of the criminal during the commission of the crime and the mental state of the criminal and the victim after the crime, experimentally and inductively. The purpose of this research is to bring closer the views of criminal lawyers, criminologists, and criminal psychologists on the mental processes of criminals with a criminal personality; with an emphasis on criminal psychology, so that by analyzing the mental processes of such criminals and the challenges ahead, in addition to filing a criminal case, it can examine their personality case and help the judicial system to have a better understanding of such criminals and, instead of punishing such individuals, apply appropriate security measures and measures to eliminate their danger to individuals or society. To achieve this goal, a descriptive-analytical research method was used, in which information was collected by referring to written sources, initially about criminal personality, with sources available in criminal law, criminology, and criminal psychology; then, it was analyzed using a logical method and rational reasoning. The findings of the research indicate that; people with criminal personality, with characteristics such as rapid loss of calm, anger, aggression, and emotional instability, are more likely than others to commit criminal behavior. The result is that; one of the effective strategies in confronting criminals and detecting violent crimes is to recognize and analyze the criminal personality of criminals, who in most cases have mental and personality disorders and are full of anger resulting from a feeling of worthlessness and easily commit crimes. Selfishness, narcissism, disregard for the personality of others, indifference to those around them, lack of prediction and correct understanding of their actions are among the characteristics of such people that enable them to exercise power and control over innocent people.
