چکیده مقاله:
Photoaging is a dermatological condition resulting from prolonged UV radiation exposure, primarily from sunlight. It accelerates intrinsic skin aging, leading to collagen and elastin breakdown, the formation of wrinkles, dryness, compromised elasticity, redness from ruptured blood vessels, and moisture loss. These detrimental changes are driven by inflammatory pathways that increase the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), induce apoptosis, degrade the extracellular matrix (ECM), and activate autophagy. This study aims to investigate the therapeutic potential of adipose - derived stem cell (ADSC) - derived exosomes (ADSC - Exos) in mitigating photoaging and improving skin health. Exosomes, nanoscale vesicles derived from endocytic membranes, have emerged as a promising intervention for photoaging. They facilitate cellular communication by transferring proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids that modulate recipient cell behavior, impacting both pathological and physiological processes in skin health. Exosomes play a role in key aging processes, including oxidative stress, inflammation, and cellular senescence. Recent studies demonstrate that ADSC - Exos can enhance the functionality of human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) by reducing cellular senescence, promoting migration, increasing type I collagen synthesis, and decreasing ROS levels and senescence - associated β - galactosidase (SA - β - Gal) activity. In conclusion, exosomes represent a novel and effective therapeutic strategy for photoaging, with potential applications for various skin. Further research into exosome-based therapies may significantly advance dermatological treatments for photoaging.
