چکیده مقاله:

Cosmetic products are one of the important items in the shopping basket of families and individuals. Skin care products, especially creams and moisturizers, are among the most widely used cosmetic products. One of the goals of cosmetic formulators is to add various features to these products. Today, due to people's approach to using herbal products, attention to the medicinal effects of plants and their use in cosmetic products has been given serious attention. Wound healing is one of the major problems and costly events with a huge global market for wound care products. The process of wound healing is an innate physiological process that ultimately leads to the reconstruction of damaged skin. However, the acceleration of recovery with the goal of preventing wound complications is an essential and inevitable necessity. One of these consequences is inflammation, which, if continued, can lead to a weakening of the immune system. Drugs used to treat inflammation, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), often have known side effects. Today, it has been proven that natural-derived drugs improve wound healing and reduce inflammation, but instead, show fewer side effects. Phlomis fruticosa, is a species of flowering plant in the family Lamiaceae and a small evergreen shrub, native to Greece, Turkey, and Iran. So far, various effects have been reported for this plant; such as antineurodegenerative and antioxidant activities, antimicrobial, anti-enzymatic, and cytotoxic properties. Following our systematic studies and researches in the field of preparing cosmetic products using medicinal plants and natural ingredients, this study was conducted with the aim of investigating Phlomis fruticosa extract as a possible wound healing and anti-inflammatory agent.
