چکیده مقاله:

The effect of spiritual care on the quality of life of lower limb amputation patients due to atherosclerosis Introduction: Atherosclerosis is the most common cause of amputation surgery. Atherosclerosis often develops in old age, which causes a decrease in blood supply to a part of the body. This study aimed to investigate the effect of multidimensional spiritual care on anxiety, depression and attitude towards self and God in patients with lower limb amputation due to atherosclerosis. Method: In this research, a pre-test-post-test design was used with two groups. A total of ۶۴ participants (male = ۴۱, female = ۲۳) aged between ۴۷ and ۷۸ years who had an amputation related to atherosclerosis participated in this study. The experimental group was subjected to spiritual support intervention for ۱۰ sessions of ۴۵ minutes, while the control group did not receive any intervention. To collect data, Kettle Anxiety Inventory (CAI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Religious Adherence Questionnaire (RAQ) and God Self Concept Questionnaire were used. The obtained results were analyzed using repeated measures analysis and independent t-test using SPSS ۲۳ software. Results: Spiritual care was effective in the experimental group and there was a significant difference between the control and experimental groups in terms of anxiety, depression, image of God and belief in God. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that emphasizing spirituality and providing spiritual support to amputated patients can contribute to their overall well-being, understanding the true nature and purpose of their existence, and their peace. Therefore, managers can improve the health of patients by creating opportunities for spiritual support.
