چکیده مقاله:

Diabetes mellitus leads to serious complications like diabetic foot disease (DFD). DFD can result in lower limb amputation (LEA), which has severe emotional and physical consequences. LEA rates are high, with an estimated amputation occurring every ۲۰ seconds globally due to diabetes. Diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) management imposes a heavy economic burden on healthcare systems globally. Patients with DFU are at increased risk of depression and anxiety. DFU also increases hospital admissions and emergency room visits. DFU have severe psychological and social consequences, including depression, anxiety, and reduced quality of life. These ulcers disrupt daily activities, lead to financial strain. Despite advancements in treatment, DFU patients continue to suffer from poor quality of life, especially when ulcers recur or do not heal. Therefore, the present study is important in order to investigate the anxiety, depression and stress of amputation, as well as increasing the understanding of the effect of psychological and functional complications among patients with DFU.
