چکیده مقاله:

Aim: This study evaluated the remineralizing and antibacterial properties and durability of an experimental silver-doped nanostructured bioglass resin sealant (nBG-Ag) on enamel. Methods: In this in vitro study, nBG-Ag was synthesized using the sol-gel method and characterized with transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), attenuated total reflection (ATR), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDAX). Antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans was assessed via biofilm inhibition tests. Remineralization was evaluated using SEM. Data were analyzed with Kruskal-Wallis and Bonferroni tests (α=۰.۰۵).Results: Increasing nBG-Ag from ۳% to ۵% enhanced antibacterial activity against Streptococcus. mutans. SEM and EDAX confirmed hydroxyapatite (HA) deposits on the enamel surface. Conclusion: The nBG-Ag sealant sealed enamel, promoted calcium and phosphate deposition, inhibited Streptococcus mutans, and reduced enamel demineralization around orthodontic brackets.
