Aim: The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between positive psychological capital and students' truancy. Method: This was a descriptive-correlational study. The statistical population included all high school students in Semnan in the academic year ۲۰۲۳-۲۰۲۴, from which ۳۴۱ people were selected using multi-stage cluster sampling. In this study, the truancy scale and the hope, resilience, self-efficacy, and optimism questionnaire were used. Pearson correlation test was used to analyze the data. Findings: The results showed that the components of positive psychological capital, including hope, resilience, self-efficacy, and optimism, had a positive and significant correlation with truancy. Conclusion: Therefore, positive psychological capital (hope, resilience, self-efficacy, and optimism) played an important role in explaining adolescent truancy; Overall, the findings of the study showed that components of positive psychological capital can reduce truancy in students. As a result, designing interventions based on improving these characteristics is suggested as a basis for reducing truancy in this group of individuals.
