چکیده مقاله:
Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly emerging as a huge evolution in microbiology, and its applications are beginning to redefine the landscape of microbial diagnostics, antimicrobial testing, and outbreak management. Thus, this mini-review surveys the current state of AI in clinical microbiology. A literature search was carried out across several biomedical databases, with inclusion criteria focusing on studies that have integrated AI-based algorithms and models in microbiological research and practice. The findings suggest that AI-powered techniques can improve the accuracy and speed of microbial identification, predict antimicrobial resistance, and real-time epidemiological surveillance. However, the use of AI in routine microbiological workflows is not without challenge, including issues of data standardization. This mini-review discusses these opportunities and challenges, offering insights for future research aimed at using AI in the field of clinical microbiology.
