چکیده مقاله:

Dam construction has always been a controversial issue among engineers, social and environmental activists. The economic and social effects of this issue are sometimes analyzed contradictory. While paying attention to this, the effects of the dam on the formation of sedimentation and erosion of the river should be considered. The double effect of the dam is that it both slows down the flow, especially in flood flows, and causes the trapping of a large volume of sediments. In this regard, the first case causes a decrease in the erosive power of the flow, that is, an increase in sedimentation, and in the second case, it causes a decrease in the sediment flow and a decrease in sedimentation. In this article, the effect of dam construction on a branch of the river in upstream and sediment patterns in downstream in a period of about ۱۰ years would be estimated. In this regard, a specific case of the river system and its morphology was studied. In long-term evaluation, the formation of a new process of sedimentation and vegetation in the region was observed, which indicates the change in the catchment level, in ecology and in the aspect ratio in the meander.
