چکیده مقاله:

Nanotechnology, leveraging materials with dimensions ranging from ۱-۱۰ nm, has become a transformative force across diverse fields, particularly healthcare. Its unique properties enable advancements in medical diagnostics, drug delivery systems, cancer therapy, and antimicrobial applications. Despite its promise, the integration of nanotechnology faces technical and regulatory challenges, alongside safety and environmental concerns. Nanoparticles, whether naturally occurring, incidental, or engineered, exhibit diverse behaviors that influence their risks and benefits. Free nanoparticles, in particular, demand careful evaluation due to their potential toxicity and environmental impact. Emerging research highlights health hazards, including respiratory issues, inflammation, and organ dysfunction, alongside risks like workplace exposure and ecological harm. Regulatory bodies and safety guidelines emphasize minimizing these risks while promoting responsible innovation. The environmental sustainability of nanotechnology is also addressed through green nanotechnology, aiming to reduce pollution and foster eco-friendly designs. This review underscores the need for comprehensive risk assessments, standardized safety protocols, and collaborative efforts to ensure nanotechnology's safe and ethical development in healthcare and beyond.
