Synthesis and Characterization of Magnetite-Gold Core-Sell

This work reports the synthesis and characterization of magnetite Fe۳O۴ by using coprecipitation method and the magnetite-gold core-sell by co-precipitation method. The synthesized gold core-shell NPs nanoparticles were characterized by FT-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Vibrating-sample magnetometry (VSM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). The average crystallite size of the magnetite-gold core-shell NPs was obtained at about ۸ nm as determined by Debye-Scherrer equation from the data of X-ray diffraction. The size of NPs by XRD method is about ۱۸.۵ nm.
