چکیده مقاله:

In this paper, the effect of the synthesis method of copper oxide and zinc oxide nanocomposites based on sepiolite for the removal of methyl orange dye from wastewater has been investigated. To achieve this purpose, three types of nanocomposites were synthesized using precipitation, hydrothermal and solution combustion methods. Various analyses, including field emission scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and specific surface area (BET) measurement, have been used to investigate the physicochemical properties of the nanocomposites. The results of the performance measurement and physicochemical properties of the composites show that the precipitation method has better efficiency in the methyl orange removal process due to the better dispersion of copper oxide and zinc oxide particles on the sepiolite base. On the other hand, the presence of micropores caused by combustion in the structure of the nanocomposites synthesized by the solution combustion method has increased the access of large methyl orange molecules to the active sites of copper oxide and zinc oxide, and has shown better efficiency than the hydrothermal method.
