چکیده مقاله:
This paper explores the profound role of myths in the formation of cultural and individual identities, delving into their psychological impact on social behavior. Myths, as ancient narratives and frameworks, are preserved across generations, imbuing cultures with shared values, norms, and archetypal symbols. These narratives serve as a vehicle for cultural continuity and cohesion, embedding themselves deeply into the collective consciousness of societies. By examining myths, we can understand how they reflect societal values and contribute to a unified cultural identity, providing individuals with a sense of belonging and direction. On an individual level, myths play a critical role in shaping self-identity and self-understanding. Through the lens of psychology, particularly Jungian analysis, myths reveal archetypes that resonate with the human psyche, guiding individuals through personal growth and existential exploration. The internalization of these mythological frameworks offers a sense of purposeful living, framing personal experiences within a broad, symbolic narrative that informs behavior and ethical choices. Furthermore, myths influence social behavior by establishing and reinforcing social norms and expectations. They offer moral lessons that dictate appropriate conduct, helping individuals navigate complex social structures. While myths can consolidate social order, they also possess the transformative ability, evolving alongside societies to inspire social change. As communities adopt new myths, they challenge and redefine traditional structures, fostering innovation and adaptation. This abstract synthesizes a comprehensive analysis of the role of myths, emphasizing their enduring relevance and multifaceted impact on both personal and collective levels. By integrating psychological insights, the paper underscores the capacity of myths to provide profound understanding and navigate the complexities of human identity and social dynamics, offering a framework to explore the entwined relationship between storytelling and societal development. This exploration underscores the foundational role of myth in human history, serving as both a reflective surface and a driving force for cultural and personal evolution.
