چکیده مقاله:

With advancements in research on the human microbiome, many bacteria have been recognized as beneficial agents in improving health and treating diseases. The microbiota of breast milk has been reported as a vital source for the development of the gut flora in infants and is also considered a valuable source for selecting probiotics. For instance, Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium isolated from breast milk have numerous applications in the infant food industry and have been shown to perform various functions, including anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory effects, promoting growth in infants, and regulating human health. Additionally, the probiotics present in breast milk have higher biosafety compared to those isolated from non-human sources and exhibit desirable resistance to gastric digestion and bile shock. Specific LAB strains isolated from human milk have demonstrated the ability to inhibit the growth of a wide range of pathogenic bacteria through competitive exclusion or the production of antimicrobial compounds, such as bacteriocins and organic acids.
