Using Artificial Intelligence for Learning English via Virtual Platform: Iranian EFL Lecturers' Viewpoints in Focus

With the rapid advancement of technology, online learning has emerged as a revolutionary approach to education, providing comprehensive and readily available learning opportunities to students worldwide. The purpose of the present survey was to study the viewpoints of Iranian EFL lecturers regarding online learning. The participants in this study were ۴۰ EFL lecturers teaching English at different branches of Islamic Azad University, selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using an online questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. In fact, the quantitative data were obtained through the online questionnaire. The data obtained from the questionnaire were presented in the form of tables and figures to illustrate Iranian EFL lecturers' viewpoints on online learning and its continuity. The results of the data analysis revealed that most Iranian EFL lecturers agree with online learning, hold positive viewpoints about it, and believe that online learning positively influences students' learning, particularly in their speaking and listening skills. Additionally, data analysis showed that the majority of lecturers support online learning. Online learning has become increasingly popular, especially with advancements in technology. It offers flexibility and accessibility to education for both students and teachers. It was found that progressing technology influences English learning. As technology continues to advance and educational practices evolve, online learning is likely to become an integral component of the broader educational ecosystem, offering diverse learners access to high-quality, tailored learning experiences. By leveraging technology effectively and addressing associated challenges, educators can create a learning environment that prepares students for success in the digital age. This study has both theoretical and practical implications for government officials, EFL teachers, and learners.
