Evaluation in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) is crucial for assessing effectiveness and guiding instructional improvement. Various evaluation theories serve as frameworks to address different aspects of language teaching and learning. This article explores prominent evaluation theories in TEFL, including behaviorist, constructivist, and transformative evaluation. By examining their implications, methodologies, and examples from practice, this work aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how these theories can enhance evaluative practices in language education.
