چکیده مقاله:
Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) technologies are pivotal in shaping the future of the downstream petrochemical industry. As global energy demand evolves, FCC units are increasingly being optimized to enhance profitability, sustainability, and adaptability to market trends. FCC is a core refining process that converts heavy oils into lighter, more valuable products such as gasoline, distillates, and petrochemical feedstocks. The process involves heating heavy gas oils to high temperatures, mixing them with a catalyst, and cracking their large molecules into smaller ones. The catalyst is regenerated in a separate vessel to maintain efficiency. As demand for traditional fuels declines due to electrification and biofuel adoption, FCC units are being leveraged to produce higher-value chemicals. For example, modifications to FCC units can allow up to ۴۰% of refinery output to be directed toward petrochemicals, helping refiners adapt to shifting market demands.
