Ecological landscapes consist of complex and interconnected systems shaped by natural and human activities. Population growth, along with rapid and continuous changes in environmental and climatic conditions, creates significant challenges in the field of ecological landscapes and land use in various regions of the world. These factors directly affect the intensity of extreme weather events, such as floods, droughts, and snowstorms, and consequently impact resource accessibility and productivity. Understanding the nature and key dimensions of ecological perspectives contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of landscape approaches and provides the potential to integrate them to address complex environmental, economic, and social challenges. Studies have shown that due to the multifaceted nature of ecological landscapes, having a networked perspective on landscapes significantly aids in understanding human-nature interactions as well as social relationships and the dynamics of cooperation among individuals and groups. This research has been conducted through the PRISMA protocol in reputable scientific databases such as Scopus. In this research, by analyzing and reviewing past studies and understanding the precise dimensions of the landscape, recognizing and interacting with various specialists who must have complete knowledge and mastery in their respective fields, along with a networked approach both in the studies of the structure and layers constituting the landscape and in the interactions within the teamwork of landscape designers, it is possible to define sustainability indicators and thereby provide a framework for planning and designing urban ecological landscapes to address environmental issues and achieve sustainability in ecological landscapes.
