Unified Process Framework for Daily Reporting & Safety in Small/Medium Construction Projects

This paper proposes a unified process model designed to streamline daily reporting and enhance safety oversight in small and medium construction projects. Instead of relying solely on digital automation, the study adopts a conceptual approach rooted in lean management, process standardization, and continuous improvement. The model integrates four key components: standardized daily recording, embedded safety protocols, resource management integration, and continuous feedback loops. Detailed examples—including sample reporting templates, safety checklist items, and feedback mechanisms—are provided to clarify the framework. A qualitative research method involving ۲۰ structured interviews and ۳ focus group sessions with project managers and site supervisors was used to gather insights, with participants selected through purposive sampling from diverse projects. Although the study is primarily conceptual, it outlines an experimental design for future empirical validation. Limitations such as sample size and the specific nature of projects studied are discussed. The paper concludes with recommendations for future research, including economic evaluations, adaptation to various project types, and integration with broader project management systems.
