Spatial organization of Qajar houses in the historical context of Kashan Case Study (Boroujerdi and Isfahanian house)

Residential houses of the Qajar period are valuable examples of Iranian architecture. The houses of this period were built according to geographical, climatic and cultural conditions in different regions. Considering the Traditional Architecture, we find that the architects of the past have used various measures to achieve the principles of sustainability, And they have invented logical and appropriate solutions and methods to provide human comfort conditions in different seasons of the year. Nowadays, with the increase in population and lack of fossil fuel resources, it becomes necessary to study in the field of sustainable housing and find their principles and foundations to reduce energy consumption and use them in contemporary architecture. In order to achieve this goal, two examples of houses from the Qajar period were selected from the hot and arid climate area in Kashan city, And it was analyzed with the criteria related to spatial organization (courtyard entrance location, courtyard entrance hierarchy, functions around courtyard proportion, number of residential functions around courtyard proportion).
