چکیده مقاله:
Habitats serve as shelters, protecting humans from cold, heat, and natural disasters, establishing a direct connection with climate. One important aspect of climate-responsive design in buildings is the selection of appropriate materials. This paper adopts a comparative approach to assess the climatic compatibility of the indigenous settlements in the villages of Mahabad, aiming to maximize the residents' climatic comfort through the use of building materials. Employing a quantitative research method, we first analyzed the climatic design proposals for Mahabad using the Mahoney model. Subsequently, we examined the material indices in the wall and ceiling sections of ۷۰ models of rural indigenous buildings, utilizing field studies and documentary analysis. Given the extensive research area, we ensured accuracy by selecting at least one village, ultimately studying nine villages within the Mahabad district. The selected villages contain structures with relatively valuable and intact indigenous architectural characteristics worthy of study. The analysis of indigenous samples, encompassing ۷۰ cases, was evaluated on both general and micro scales. Finally, using a single-sample t-test via SPSS, we determined that the adaptation of indigenous patterns to Mahoney's climatic proposals showed a significant difference. This positive difference indicates that indigenous housing, in terms of materials used in the wall section, aligns with Mahoney's proposed framework; however, there is a noted incompatibility in the roof section.
