Zero Energy Buildings (ZEBs) are rapidly developing and expanding as one of the effective solutions to reduce energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These types of buildings are designed in such a way that throughout the year, the amount of energy they consume is equal to the amount of energy produced from renewable sources. Climatic conditions such as temperature, humidity, solar radiation and wind patterns can significantly affect the energy needs of buildings. For example, in hot and dry climates, the need for cooling systems is greater, while in cold climates, the need for heating systems is increased. Also, the amount of solar radiation and wind patterns can also affect the performance of renewable energy production systems such as solar panels and wind turbines. In this article, first the definitions and characteristics of zero energy buildings are explained and then the effects of regional climate on the design and performance of these buildings. It is checked. In the following, optimal design strategies for zero energy buildings in different climatic conditions are presented. These strategies include the use of thermal insulation, shading systems, natural ventilation, renewable energy production systems and the selection of suitable materials for each specific climate. The study shows that matching the design of zero energy buildings with the climatic characteristics of the region can optimize energy consumption, reduce Costs and improving quality of life help. The results of this research can help architects, engineers and policy makers in designing and implementing zero energy buildings in different regions and lead to the realization of sustainable development goals and reducing environmental impacts. This research is qualitative and has used library methods to collect information.
