The comparative study of two residential space construction and design patterns (Residential Complex and the conventional pattern of residential apartments)

Today the need for housing in urban areas has increased due to population density and housing demands and also due to households unicellular. In recent years the growing need for housing in developing countries has caused to construct apartments and numerous residential complexes. By studying the process of creating the residential complexes and apartments, in planning and designing the framework of these housings it was seen a considerable reduction in the principles and standards of urbanization. The result of this reduction is getting away from the desirable residential environments. The present study deals with the aspects and the criteria of planning and designing residential complexes and apartments after studying the world and Iran residential complexes and apartments and study some of these principles comparatively in two models of residential patterns in Hamadan city: ۱- Saeidiye residential complex in Hamadan ۲- Conventional models of residential apartments in Saeidiye crossroad In the process of this study, it has been used the views of the residents of the two samples and also a multi-criterion evaluation for quantitative assessment. The findings of the study show that in Saeidiye residential complex it has been provided more favorable residential environment than conventional models of residential apartments near Saeidiye crossroad. Low density and more appropriate open space and greenbelt and its effects on the environment physical – spatial qualities lead to the superiority of the overall score of the residential complex to the conventional patterns of residential apartments.
