چکیده مقاله:

A new plasmonic sensor design is presented in this paper. The sensor makes use of two square ring cavities incorporated into a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguide construction. An incomplete square ring (ISR), the initial cavity, is best suited for biological analyte detection. A complete square ring (CSR), the second cavity, is made especially for temperature detection. The transmitted light spectrum has distinctive resonance dips as a consequence of these different cavity shapes. The device allows for simultaneous and independent measurements of temperature and biological substances by using the temperature-dependent refractive index of PDMS in the CSR cavity and the redshift caused by biological analyses in the ISR cavity. The device's geometric characteristics were optimized by finite element method (FEM) simulations, which improved its manufacturability and sensitivity. The device demonstrates high sensitivity: ۸۰۰ nm/RIU for biosensing and -۰.۵ nm/°C for temperature sensing. These characteristics render the device highly suitable for a wide range of applications.
