چکیده مقاله:

This study investigates the removal of lead from zinc pregnant leach solutions using strontium carbonate in the hot purification stage. The presence of lead in zinc solutions can adversely affect the quality of the final product, necessitating effective removal methods. Strontium carbonate is shown to selectively precipitate lead without significantly impacting zinc content, thus improving the overall quality of the produced zinc. The experimental setup involved leaching zinc oxide concentrates with sulfuric acid, followed by the purification steps. The results indicated that the optimal consumption of strontium carbonate led to a significant reduction in lead concentration while maintaining low zinc losses, with only a ۵% reduction in zinc. Additionally, the study highlighted the effectiveness of strontium carbonate in enhancing the purification process, as evidenced by a notable decrease in zinc losses in filter cakes. The findings suggest that substituting strontium carbonate for lime in the hot purification can further minimize zinc losses in filter cakes, thereby optimizing the hydrometallurgical zinc production process. Overall, this research contributes valuable insights into improving lead removal techniques in zinc processing, emphasizing the role of strontium carbonate in enhancing product quality and process efficiency.
