چکیده مقاله:
Stroke is the second cause of death in people over ۵۰ years old in the world. Ischemic stroke is the most common type of stroke. TCD (intracranial Doppler ultrasound) is a non-invasive method to monitor the speed and direction of blood flow in large intracranial vessels. In this study, TCD findings in these patients were evaluated and compared. In this study, ۱۰۰ patients with stroke in the area of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) were included in the study and according to the findings of CT (computed tomography) scan, Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and TCA compared to the occurrence of hemorrhagic transformations. Mean Fluid Velocity (MFV) and Peak Systolic Velocity (PSV) of the MCA and Anterior cerebral artery (ACA) vessels of the infarcted side were measured in TCD and compared with the opposite side of the brain. In patients with hemorrhagic transformation, PSV and MFV in the MCA vessels were increased compared to the healthy hemisphere of the brain in ۱۱ patients (۵۵%), and no flow was found in both criteria in ۵ patients (۲۵%) and decreased in the remaining patients (۲۰%). Investigating the changes in the flow velocity in the middle and anterior cranial vessels in patients with ischemic stroke can help in diagnosing the occurrence of hemorrhagic transformation and lead to an increase in accuracy in the investigation of intracranial pathologies in patients with ischemic stroke.
