چکیده مقاله:

The vital role of aluminum in the pharmaceutical industry and pharmaceutical products is unquestioned, as it is extensively used in antacid formulation, antiperspirants, and adjuvants for vaccinations. However, it should be noted that above the tolerable intake, aluminum can cause harmful effects on health, primarily affecting the nervous system, Alzheimer's disease, and breast cancer. This study aims to develop a new green flow injection (FI) spectrophotometry for aluminum determination based on the complex formation between Al۳+ and anthocyanins in red galangal flower extract, forming a complex purple solution detected at a maximum wavelength of ۵۵۵ nm. The optimum performance of the method was achieved under the conditions of pH ۶, ۳% (v/v) extract dilution from the concentrated extract, ۱۲۵ cm mixing coil, and ۱۵۰ µL sample volume. This method was selective against Pb۲+, Mg۲+, and Ca۲+ interfering metal ions up to ۱۰۰ mg/L with error values <۵%. This new method has been successfully applied to determine Al۳+ in antiperspirant and antacid tablets with high accuracy (۹۵-۱۰۰% recovery) and satisfactory precision (RSD <۵%) with a high analysis rate of up to ۱۰۰ samples/h.
