چکیده مقاله:

Persian classic proses are full of stories and myths which are somehow joined with our culture, custom, and ceremony, and also our religion. More or less, these stories also enjoy imaginary aspects. The purpose of this study is to investigate the names, roles, and characteristics of Demon and Fairy in Persian literature prose. In imaginary Persian stories, the glitter of elements like Demon and Fairy is considerable; though, these elements are not imaginary from the Islamic point of view. Sometimes, in Persian prose, these elements are considered in the form of human being with prominent and specific characteristics. In some other times, they play the role of specific animals. As the third form, they are seen in the form of strange and wonderful combination of human and animal beings. It is interesting that in all the three cases, these creatures have the feature higher and stronger than human beings, physically and spiritually; while in Holy Quran it is contradicted. Though in Persian stories and myths the emphasis is on the imaginary aspects of these creatures, what attracts the readers' attention is that these creatures have the same features as Islamic ones, like sex, good or bad, death and so on
