This study evaluates the effectiveness of online English language courses in Iran by examining student outcomes and pedagogical challenges. The research was conducted on a sample of ۳۴۰ EFL students enrolled in various online courses. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining student surveys, language proficiency assessments, and instructor feedback as measurement tools. Findings indicate that while online learning enhances reading and writing skills, it is less effective for speaking and listening due to limited interaction. Challenges such as low student engagement, lack of instructor presence, and technological barriers were identified. The study suggests that blended learning models and improved digital infrastructure can enhance online EFL education in Iran.
