THE REASONS OF HAVING PROBLEMS IN LISTENING COMPREHENSION

This study aims to research and investigate the problems of listening comprehension. According to the researches, all language learners have many problems, when they decide to learn another language. Between four skills, listening is more important than others and the students face its problems. I do this by identifying the problems of listening comprehension by using test the listening of ten students who study in level 8 in institute. I found out that they have many problems that cannot communicate together or express their ideas or they cannot contribute in conversation and they cannot understand the aim of persons who speak English. Many problems occurred during cognitive stages which have three parts such as perception, parsing and utilization. Current affective research on listening comprehension shows its influence. Buck (2001) analysed affective factors which influence listening. They involve unknown vocabulary, unfamiliar topics, fast speech rates and unfamiliar accent. I highlight the problems of listening and the process of listening is complex that allows us to understand spoken L2 and it play a key role in developing learners L2 ability to communicate.
