چکیده مقاله:
According to the theories of John Stuart Mill and Mirza Mahdi Isfahani, the meaning of words and proper names (personal nouns) exists independently, outside of the mind, unlike concepts and mental images. Mill, acting as an intermediary, refers mental images to external reality. However, he ultimately agrees with the viewpoint of analytical philosophers that external words are independent.
Mirza Mahdi Isfahani and his followers believe that words referring to divine matters in religious sciences do not only denote external entities but also imply veiled meanings within the realm of knowledge. Comparing these two perspectives reveals that Mill recognizes that names have unique qualities and attributes completely independent of meaning, while Mirza Mahdi Isfahani does not explicitly state this in his writings. However, some of his prominent works suggest this interpretation.
