Consequences of unintended pregnancy on children's health: a systematic review

Every year, ۲۱۳ million pregnancies occur all over the world, one third of them, i.e. ۷۵ million, are unwanted, and about ۳۸% of them end in birth. Unwanted pregnancy can lead to adverse health outcomes, including not receiving timely and adequate prenatal care, premature birth, anemia. Delay in starting prenatal care, reducing the possibility of starting and continuing breastfeeding, shortening the role of mother and reducing mother-fetus attachment are other negative consequences of unwanted pregnancy in mothers. It seems that unwanted pregnancy can affect the health of neonate and children, so the aim of this study was to systematically review the consequences of unwanted pregnancy on children's health.
