چکیده مقاله:
Alzheimer's disease is one of the most common neurodegenerative disorders, characterized by the gradual decline of cognitive function and memory. The rate of progression of this disease can be influenced by various genetic, environmental, and biological factors. Identifying these factors can help improve therapeutic and preventive strategies. This study aimed to identify and examine the factors influencing the rate of progression of Alzheimer's in patients. In this review study, scientific and research articles from reputable databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar were collected. The selected articles included clinical and laboratory studies addressing factors such as age, gender, genetics, comorbidities, education level, lifestyle, medications, and mental health. Research indicates that several factors influence the rate of Alzheimer's progression. Older age, the presence of the APOE ε۴ allele, and comorbid conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular problems can accelerate the disease's progression. In contrast, factors such as higher education, a higher cognitive reserve, regular physical activity, a healthy diet, and mental activities can slow the disease's progression. Additionally, medications such as cholinesterase inhibitors may help delay disease progression. Mental health also significantly impacts the rate of progression, with depression being particularly linked to faster disease progression. The rate of Alzheimer's progression is influenced by various factors, some of which are modifiable. Awareness of these factors and the adoption of appropriate preventive and therapeutic measures can help better control the disease and improve patients' quality of life. Further research is needed to better understand the interactions of these factors and their impact on disease progression.
