Investment is one of the key financial decisions of citizens in metropolitan areas, influenced by various factors. Among these, financial psychology plays a significant role in shaping individuals' economic decisions. This paper examines the impact of cognitive biases, emotions, and psychological factors on the investment behaviors of citizens in large cities. Previous research shows that factors such as anchoring effect, overconfidence, loss aversion, and the influence of short-term emotions can lead to irrational investment decisions. Additionally, urban lifestyle, widespread access to information, advertising, and financial media play an important role in shaping citizens' investment behaviors. Furthermore, the paper explores methods for mitigating the negative effects of financial psychology on investment by proposing solutions such as improving financial literacy, designing effective urban policies, and promoting informed decision-making. It demonstrates that urban management can contribute to enhancing rational investment behaviors among citizens through financial education and the design of optimal decision-making environments.
