چکیده مقاله:

Neuroplasticity, which is the capacity of the brain to change its structure and function as well as grow new neuronal connections throughout an individual’s lifetime, is quite valuable in adult learning. This paper aims at investigating the effects of neuroplasticity on cognition, especially in the contexts of learning that has relevance to the adult learning process. Long believed to be present only in childhood, flexibility of attention has recently been proved to be effective in adults, who can continue learning new information and changing their behavior patterns. In this paper, the author offers a literature review on how neuroplasticity enhances a number of learning factors for adults learning including formal learning, continuing and professional development learning. The article also gives an analysis of barriers affecting adult learning and discussion on how learning can be enhanced based on the plasticity. The study points to the possibility of obtaining a higher efficiency of learning and information storage following purposeful utilization of neuroplasticity as a means of developing the brain and personality well into the adult stage.
