Extractive distillation using nonpolar solvent NFM is usually used to separate aromatics from nonaromatics in reformate feeds. This is a common method for separating materials with very close boiling points or compounds that have azeotropic points. In this method, the solvent enters a higher tray of the extractive distillation tower than the feed and, when it encounters the feed, creates different changes in the boiling points of different compounds. To optimize the extractive distillation process and reduce the waste of benzene in the raffinate, it is better to first simulate this process with HYSYS software and then use the simulator to obtain the optimal conditions. The aim of this research is to increase the efficiency of this tower by optimizing the operating conditions and parameters governing it and reducing the loss of benzene and the resulting profitability.
