Building Information Modeling (BIM) has become a critical tool in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, enhancing project efficiency, cost management, and risk mitigation. This study examines the impact of BIM on risk management and project optimization through the analysis of key factors such as design errors, unbudgeted changes, Requests for Information (RFIs), labor dynamics, and scheduling. A mixed-method approach, combining quantitative analysis and an industry survey, was employed to assess BIM’s effectiveness. The results indicate that BIM adoption leads to a ۲۰% reduction in project timelines, a ۱۵% decrease in costs, a ۳۰% reduction in design errors, and a ۲۵% decrease in RFIs. Despite challenges such as inadequate training and the lack of contractual integration, BIM significantly improves stakeholder collaboration, design visualization, and risk assessment. This study proposes a structured decision-making framework to estimate error probabilities, assess cost and time implications, and align projects with budgetary constraints. These findings highlight the strategic value of BIM in improving risk management practices and optimizing construction project outcomes.
