Sandwich panels with truss cores have attracted the attention of researchers and some industries due to their high strength-to-weight ratio. This research investigates the buckling response of sandwich cylindrical shells with pyramidal truss cores subjected to axial compressive loads. The structural behavior is modeled using a finite element analysis. An analytical solution is also performed by approximating the truss-core sandwich structure as an isotropic shell. A comparison of the numerical and analytical results indicates that for sandwich shells with relatively thin thickness, the analytical predictions closely align with the numerical findings, demonstrating acceptable accuracy.
