In recent decades, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in smart grids has emerged as an innovative solution for optimizing energy consumption and enhancing the efficiency of distribution networks. This paper explores the role of artificial intelligence in smart energy metering and optimal energy consumption management, discussing various approaches to applying AI algorithms in power grids to reduce energy wastage, improve load forecasting, and optimize energy distribution. The techniques examined include machine learning algorithms, neural networks, and expert systems, which are specifically employed in accurate energy metering and big data analytics within power networks. This paper provides an analysis and comparison of the results from these algorithms and evaluates their advantages and drawbacks. Furthermore, experimental results and simulations demonstrating the positive impacts of AI in energy optimization are presented. The conclusions of this paper specifically address future strategies and the further development of smart systems for optimal energy management in smart grids.
