Undoubtedly, English serves as the primary language for global interaction, business, globalization, trade, and mass media. It is now widely recognized as an international language rather than being considered the exclusive domain of the English-speaking world. In this context, the concept and conceptual approach of Linguistic Influentialism can be introduced as a substitute for Linguistic Imperialism. Influentialism does not deny the hegemonic influence of the English language, which results from its pervasive global use. Instead, Influentialism emphasizes all aspects of English's influence, which stem from the language's diffusion. Additionally, to address the sense of guilt and anxiety English language instructors may feel about potentially acting as ambassadors of linguistic and cultural imperialism or colonialism, the current study reviewed the concepts of norms and standards and their impact on English Language Teaching and Learning (ELTL). Drawing from diffusionism, semantic lexicology, psychology, ecology, biology, and microbiology, the research aimed to establish a multidisciplinary understanding of English's ۲۱st-century reality and propose a new conceptual framework. The study aimed to demonstrate how a Linguistic Influentialism conceptual framework can replace Linguistic Imperialism in English as an International Language (EIL) context, as suggested by Seidlhofer (۲۰۱۱). So employing a mixed-methods approach, including qualitative and quantitative surveys and interviews with English language instructors and learners, the study concluded that drawing from other disciplines can lead to a more appropriate, adapted, and acceptable approach through Influentialism. This approach can supplant Imperialism and Colonialism in the field of English Language Teaching and Learning.
