چکیده مقاله:

The removal of petroleum pollutants from wastewater is a critical environmental challenge. This study explores the combined application of natural and synthetic adsorbents as a promising strategy to enhance treatment efficacy. Natural adsorbents, derived from renewable resources like agricultural waste and biomass, offer cost-effective andbiodegradable alternatives to conventional synthetic materials. Their integration with synthetic adsorbents leverages synergistic effects, improving both adsorption capacity and selectivity for petroleum hydrocarbons. However, challenges remain, including spent adsorbent regeneration and disposal, economic feasibility for large-scaleimplementation, and optimization of selectivity for specific pollutants. Ongoing research focusing on hybrid material engineering, long-term performance, and life-cycle assessments is crucial for developing sustainable and cost-effective integrated treatment systems.
