چکیده مقاله:

This article explores the essential role of communication protocols within protection and controlsystems in high voltage substations, focusing on how these protocols have transformed substationautomation and management. As smart grid technology continues to advance, the need for reliable, secure, and efficient data exchange between substation devices has become paramount.Communication protocols enable real-time monitoring, control, and coordination of equipment, whichare critical for ensuring safety, stability, and efficient operation across the power grid. Key protocols, particularly IEC ۶۱۸۵۰ and DNP۳, are examined in depth for their contributions to seamlesscommunication and interoperability among devices from different manufacturers. The articlehighlights the unique features of these protocols, such as the high-speed messaging of IEC ۶۱۸۵۰’sGOOSE (Generic Object-Oriented Substation Events) and the robust remote monitoring capabilitiesof DNP۳, along with comparisons between their applications. Furthermore, the discussion addresseschallenges in implementing these protocols, including cybersecurity risks, interoperability issues, andnetwork latency. Looking forward, the article explores future trends such as the integration of IoT andcloud technologies and the development of advanced cybersecurity measures, which promise toenhance communication reliability and the overall resilience of power systems.
